Lampoon, Dance is black: Genis Mitjans’ photographs are an ode to strength

As in a choir, models and professional dancers chosen by Genis Mitjans and Samuel Puyol trying to say everything that a single body cannot say alone. Intertwining bodies to speak out

Genis Mitjans shooting for Lampoon Issue 24: Better than me

The strength of dance. Casting was made up of professional models and dancers with my partner Genis. Locations, props and lights were found in keeping with what we were looking for. Better Than Me is a song by Blood Orange, the vibe of which we wanted to channel through this story. We complement each other when we shoot

Genis Mitjans

Born in Barcelona, his interest in photography started when he studied fine arts. At the beginning he was more passionate about video than photography. After college he took a gap year to discover that photography was his real passion. Not long after he had his first jobs as an assistant and then as a photographer.

Samuel Puyol

Samuel Puyol is a Spanish Stylist working in editorials for various international publications such as Metal, Rain, Interview Germany, Glamcult, Le Mile and Lampoon Magazine. Samuel has worked as art and creative director for different fashion projects, for commercial clients and magazines.
