Title: Dog Show

The work of Joe Cruz combines dreamy vintage with ironic nostalgia, altering and manipulating old photographs. Here he explores the bizarre ritual surrounding a dog show. «I was interested in the parallels between the dogs and their owners. The seemingly absurd performative aspects of the show and outdated rituals. The show is fun, silly and dark all at the same time». Nostalgic cutouts soaked in tropical colors – Joe Cruz’s universe is a composition.
