We met at Lida’s apartment in Chinatown and spent the day playing with outfits, taking pictures, smoking, drinking beer, listening and talking about music. I wanted to photograph the badass musicians of punk band cumgirl8. The shoot is about Veronika, Lida, Chase and Avishag being who they are; their music is the inspiration. They are edgy, powerful, playful, luring you in with sexy nonchalance and raw closeness. It’s about womanhood, comradery, and soulmates through music. We kept it real. Honest. We peeked into their universe
Marie Tomanova
New York-based photographer whose body of work tackles displacement, identity, gender, and memory. Growing up in a South Moravian border town Mikulov in Czech Republic and moving to the United States, her photography has focused on portraits with the people she met on the street.
