Lampoon / Transition: when left alone we’re able to transcend ourselves

Carly Scott: open landscapes and desolated beaches give us back the freedom we’ve been longing for

The sensory experience. Being outside and taking in your surroundings it could be the sounds, smells, textures. It could be watching the clouds feeling the wind. Taking time to stop.
The pandemic has left us feeling isolated and being stuck inside far away from nature, making us appreciate the outside world and the feelings it conjures even more.

Carly Scott and nature

When rules were eased and we were allowed to shoot again, I wanted to capture in a playful way the relationship we have with nature. We wanted to capture the openness of the landscapes and desolate beach. Repressing the idea of being lost only with nature. Alone with the elements. We wanted to transcend and show the power of nature.
