Jack Johnstone for Lampoon
Johnstone: relying on subtle colors and textures that express themselves. Images vary widely in their type: he shoots mostly fashion portraits and still life for editorials, but his penchant for capturing misty, rugged landscapes and fortuitous moments is certainly not overlooked.
A multi-story 1970s residential house is bathed in the rosy light of sunset, while a cloudy, melancholy coastal moment is captured atop a hill. Slabs of stained glass overlap parts of the body in shadow, while the pastel angle of a dilapidated building wall is balanced in equal measure by its texture, color and shadow.
